The bottom line is the people of the United States of Amercia will be better served by public servants once we’re all truly united. It’s not going to be easy to get together, but we have to because when we become blacks, whites, asians and on and on….we become divided. Division makes us weak and vulnerable. Here we are putting labels on people based on limited information, and information that is edited and packaged for us. Sarah Palin is not who we see on TV, and neither is Obama, McCain and Biden.
I am not a republican or a democrat, a liberal or a conservation….I am a man, a husband, a father, a son, and grandson and I am an American….and although we may not agree on everything, I am not very different from you. We are not very different, all of us.

If we’re fighting each other, we are vulnerable to the very things we think we’re fighting for. We don’t want to become a country of Hutus and Tutsi, or Sunnis and Shiites.

“United we stand. Divided we fall.”

We don’t need healthy food from Dunkin Donuts.  We want chocolate long johns that are fresh…..coffee that is fresh and hot (but not too hot)…..and filling that is well, filled.  Dunkin Donuts need not apologize for serving unhealthy food.  They need to celebrate it, and stay focused. 

We’re all losing our focus and it’s creating a mess.  Rachel Ray should not be endorsing dog food….but it was announced today that she will.  Here’s the thing…. THE DOGS DON’T KNOW WHO SHE IS!!!!

While the genius’ at Dunkin Donuts were f’in around with everything but donuts, something happened….their donuts weren’t always fresh and tasty and good.  They didn’t deliver on the Dunkin Donuts promise…and they started making all sorts of promises they could not keep.

We’ve got to get BACK to the BASICS.  Hamburger places need to make GREAT hamburgers.  Donut places need to make donuts!  Hardware stores need to sell tools and supplies and EVERY one of those must treat EACH customer like GOLD.  That has not been happening, and it is tearing our economy apart.  The latest example freak show is McDonald’s attempt to thwart Starbucks in the coffee race.  Somehow Starbucks allowed itself to slip down to being considered FAST FOOD, and then in their infinite wisdom, the folks at McDonalds (who can’t get my regular coffee with 1 cream and 3 equal right 2 days in a row) think that they will be able to sell and service “premium coffee” with any semblance of quality control! 

We all need to roll up our sleeves and get back to the basics.  It applies to every business.  When we start doing that the way we used to, we’ll see growth beyond our wildest dreams.

3)  An All Business Radio station – Think 24 hour sports….except swap the sports for money.  Bloomberg meets Microsoft Money meets Mad Money meets Lou Dobbs meets Suze Orman.  24 hours a day, this talk station reports on the various markets and the talk shows are all money based.  You’d have a stock market show, real estate, coins, collectables…etc.

2)  The Sopranos Movie (or a new TV Series) – What?  You say the cast is too high priced now?  Gandolfini won’t do it?  Who cares!  We don’t need the old cast for a movie or for a new series even.  Bring on the pre-quels!  How about a Sopranos Movie with NO stars….  risky I know….but is it really?  The fans all know the characters.  They all know the story.  And if they are newbies, they will learn the story from the prequel movie and THEN watch the HBO series afterward cause they’re hooked.  What about prequel radio stations?  The B96 I grew up with is not today’s B96.  I would listen to a B96 Prequel station.

1)  A Radio Store – Instead of building studios so the people walking inside the merchadise mart can see behind the scenes of a radio station…how about a station that is part of a store, or restaurant, or coffee shop?  Some enterprising radio station should strike a deal with a retailer so they share a location either for a term of 1-3 years, or shorter seasonal terms.  Imagine if there was a WXRT Coffee Shop or Kiss FM Water Park.  I am not talking about remotes here.  I am suggesting building the radio experience and the retail experience into each other for greater PPM exposure and greater audience interaction.  Naturally this has to fit the radio station.  A car dealership is not going to work….but there are plenty of places that would work for the right audience.  If I owned a radio station I’d love to make money selling coffee, or park passes via my radio reach.
